Title: Looking for information on Spitfire pilot Norman Merret
Post by: NormanS on November 08, 2009, 10:44:51 PM
Hi,

This is my first time on a forum so please bear with me.  I am looking for some information about an air force pilot by the name of Norman Merret who was reported killed in action early in WW2.  A Spitfire fund was started and as a result Spifire W3211, a MK VB was named after him.  This was reported lost on 23June 1941.  I have a little background on this aircraft but am looking for more on my namesake Norman.  Specifically, I am hoping to find out

1. What unit he was with when he died
2, What action he was involved in at this time
3. What aircraft detail might be available

Hoping someone can fill in the gaps,

Regards

Norman Spencer

Norman, I don't have anything, but did you do a search in Britain's Imperial War Museum site?
