Post by: sjhopkins on February 23, 2010, 08:03:38 PM
Hi All

I'm building a model of Spitfire AB790 as flown by W/C john Kent marked J-AK and I need help with a few details or a photo.  I need to know
                i) Type of prop.
               ii) Type of wheel hub
              iii) Type of exhaust

Any help would be most appreciated!!

Thanks, Simon

I do not think there is a photograph of AB790. Profiles of 'John Thomas' have been in publications for at least 40 years and I have yet to see any photograph accompany them. If there is a Photograph then the owner has managed to keep it out of public view for an awfully long time. Watermarkdecals say "it is an often studied aircraft" but do not include a photograph which is unusual for them. So how is it studied?  I think I once read somewhere that Kent did not use his initials whilst with the Polish Wing. Try Wojtek Matusiak, he might know something about AB790. You can send him a message from the Key Publishing Ltd Aviation Forums - http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=4. The name he uses is VoyTech.
