Title: Info needed for Spitfire Vb BL595 (41 squadron RAF) 1942
Post by: AdJ on August 16, 2010, 10:44:53 PM
Hi,

I'm desperately looking for more info of this Spitfire. It was flown by Bram (Bob) van der Stok when he was shot down on April 12, 1942.
I can't find anything about the registration code (EB-...?) en what the specific markings were, paint scheme etc. when he was flying it.

The only info I could find from the production page (http://www.spitfires.ukf.net/p024.htm)

is:

BL595   Vb      CBAF   M45   38MU 9-1-42 41S 10-2-42 81S 12-2-42 Hit by flak on sweep Hazebrouck Marshalling Yards 12-4-42 FH64.20 P/O B van der Stok PoW but escaped during the 'Great Escape'

But I can not decipher anything useful from this.
Hopefully there is someone out there who can help me.

Thanks in advance!
