Title: Greetings
Post by: MikeC on January 29, 2012, 10:27:38 PM
Hello all,

My name is Michael, I'm a Spitfire fan and I cannot believe I haven't found this website before now.  As far as indulging my interest goes, I build models, although not exclusively of Spitfires.  A couple of examples:

Look forwad to contributing on the forum.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Glad to have you onboard and looking forward to seeing more of your interests here.

The models look great. I reckon that the Mk. I is an Airfix kit, how about the Mk. IX?

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the welcome and kind comments.  The models are both 1:48; you were partly right about the Mk I, it's the Tamiya kit with various bits from the Airfix "Spitfire Mk I" - there is a reason for the inverted commas, but my opinion on that Airfix kit is probably best saved for the modelling forum.  ;)  The IX is the ICM, as is the other IX, which is the wing with the US marking you can see in the same picture.

Cheers,

Mike
