Title: door on a MkVB Spitfire
Post by: harvard1078 on December 04, 2013, 05:47:35 AM
Were any of the MkVb Spitfire's built without drop down doors on the port side? The Spit that I require information on was around in 1943 so possibly an older model. Dont know the number as it was shot down over Normany in 1943. It was from 131 Sqn.

131 Squadron used the VII between March and October 1944. Prior to that, they used the Vb & Vc from 1941/2 until September 1943, with the IX being used from then until the VII arrived. All Vb & Vc would have had the standard cockpit entry door.
