Title: Spitfire Mk IX propeller question
Post by: Arrowgrab on August 07, 2014, 02:48:16 PM
Dear Spitfire fans,

I'm new to these boards. I hope I'm not posting this question in the wrong subforum (it was either this or the main Spitfire one, and, well, there IS a model involved) or asking something that's considered common knowledge (I've tried both searching these forums and Googling at large).

So, a co-worker of mine has a Spitfire model on her desk, and the other day she said it's a Mk IX. For some reason, that information started to bug me, and I think I know why: the model has three propeller blades, and I don't think I've ever seen a Mk IX on a picture with less than four.

Could some of you knowledgeable folks set me straight on this? Could it have been a Mk IX with a three-bladed propeller?
