To mark the 80th anniversary of the Spitfire's first flight and in recognition of this iconic aeroplane's design and influence on subsequent aircraft, the RAeS Historical Group will be holding a one-day seminar covering aspects of the Spitfire not normally covered in publications and other media.

Topics covered include:
- RJ Mitchell and the Spitfire (Keynote presentation)
- The Spitfire's aerodynamics
- The Seafire
- A Modern Pilot's Comparison of the Spitfire's Handling Qualities with those of the Bf109 and Hurricane
- Air to Air Photography

The event will take place at the Royal Aeronautical Society headquarters in London from 11:00 to 17:15 approximately, with a drinks reception to follow. Everyone is welcome, member or not.
