Hello,

I am in possession of what I am told to be a Spitfire propellor, originally acquired by my grandfather who was a WW2 airplane mechanic.  I would like to know how much historical or museum importance it may have, as well as its releative worth, although I have no interest in selling it.

It has a yellow painted tip and some kind of folded black metal covering the main shaft, cracked and missing significantly in places.  On the base of the prop, where I assume it is connected to the engine, is has the marking 'SET 0.11 EOARSE'.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

Is that a metal or wooden one, 2- 3- or 4-blades? A photo would be helpful.
