I have a Robert Taylor print (A Time For Heroes) which shows four aircraft of 234 Squadron returning to base after a sortie.  One of those AC is P*AZ.  I checked with some friends who know a bit about Spits, and received two different serial numbers for this plane.  One listed it as a Mk.II serial number FB215, the other listed it as a Mk.I serial number P7296.  Does anyone have any information either confirming or denying either of these?  Thank you for any help.

P7296 was, in fact, a IIa, and, as far as I can find out, there were some of 234's Mustang with FB serials, but no Spitfires carried that two-letter combination.

Thank you very much Edgar, much appreciated!  I shall go with P7296 then.
