"Sailor" Malan's Spitfire MkI

Hi,
Recently I was talking with one of my friends in modelling, and he has asked me about Spitfire Mk I flown by S/Ldr "Sailor" Malan, which he is building. We have found a picture and a drawing of this Spitfire in Wojtek Matusiak's "Polish Wings 6" on page 8. The problem is with code letters - as one can see, the shape of letters is untypical. We were trying to guess, how could look the code pattern on the opposite side? Should it be "ZPoA" or "AoZP"? And what about fonts and their size? Maybe someone can help us with the picture of the port side of this Spitfire or may be at least, any suggestion?
Regards!
