I'm involved in the restoration of Mk.XIV NH749. I'm trying to figure out what the inside of the cockpit door is supposed to look like. I know that the crowbar is not supposed to be red. Ours will be, unfortunatetly, since one of my friends had the bar powder coated red because every photo he saw of restored Spitfires had a red crowbar. So, I'm trying to head off any similar errors by getting the rest of it right. The "Ensure door is closed before flight" stencil seems to have come in several variations depending on which factory the aircraft came from. Ours was assembled at Aldermaston and so was presumably constructed in the Reading factory.
Does anyone have any idea what the stenciling from this factory should look like?

Fresh from the factory the crowbar was natural metal.Ther colourful ones are all post restoration.Think the stencils changed a bit but not 100%
