Does anyone have a clear picture of the flap gauge fitted to Mk1s,in the top left
of the instrument panel?
The Medway Restoration is a repro and the needles are incorrect.I have an original
copy of the pilots notes, but because of its location only 1/3 of the gauge is visable.
It would appear to be a Supermarine part number, because it does not resemble any other.

Hello Mike,

I'm not sure whether my pic in following link is clear enough?

Let me know if not and I'll see what else I've got.

It is indeed a Supermarine part and I'll bet it wasn't just used on the Spit but probably Walrus etc as well.

There are no flap gauges on Spitfires. Instruments such as that one are Indicators, not gauges.
Flap position on Spitfires is fully UP or DOWN only, the only indication being two small doors on the upper surface of each wing which are spring loaded flush. These are pushed open by each actuator as the flaps go down, which they do very quickly.
What you have there is the Elevator Trim indicator.

Hi Guys thanks for the feedback
Attached is a photo of a Mk1 ,the gauge is top left and to the right of the flap lever.
It appears to be a standard 3 1/4 size gauge. The needles seem to be the same size and shape
as the Nose Up/Down gauge.
Any clear picture or drawing would be most welcome.
