Hello!

I've just joined this site, I've long been an admirer of the Spitfire, although you wouldn't guess from my username Smiley

I'm planning on building several Seafire variants, namely a IB, coded 0-6K MB345, a II and a pair of LIII's, one with the underside bomb rack and one with the P-40 style drop tank. The basic kit is the Airfix 1:48 Seafire III/VC, which looks pretty decent. One of the III's will have folded wings courtesy of the Seafire 17, which seem to fit pretty well.

The two main references I have are the books 'Seafire' by David Brown, and the 'Spitfire -Classic aircraft No.1' from Airfix.

My question/s

Did all Seafires have the starboard fuselage flare tube?

Was the heaviest bombload a 250lb or 500lb bomb on the underfuselage rack (courtesy of ICM)?

Are/were any 1:48 decal sheets produced for these variants?

Any help/advice gratefully received.

Regards,

David.

1 X 500lb under the fuselage or 2 X 250lb under the wings.

Decal sheet here that may be of use to you.
