This is my first time on this thread so please forgive any lack of clarity and mistakes!
My query is about the above Spitfire, and my reason for this is that I am in contact with a Dutch Archivist who is writing a book about the 11 crashes that occurred in the Den Hout area during WW2.   As we understand it PL393 crashed on November 3rd 1944, killing its Dutch pilot Sgt T.B.Abrahamsen.  The plane was at first declared a Cat E, but this changed and, as we understand it, the plane was repaired and sent back to 331 Squadron on 25th Jan 1945..  This 'same' plane was also shot down in April 1945, with the Norwegian pilot Sgt Holwech,( who was killed), found sitting in the cockpit. My archivist friend is concerned that this plane WAS reconstructed,  (as there is a query whether this did actually happen) before putting it in writing as fact.
If anyone can throw any light on this, any information would be greatly appreciated.  Many thanks.
