Thinking about making Spitfire 14 or 19 from butchering some Hasegawa kits, and wondering if the radiator housings for the Griffon had the same footprint as the Merlin ones?  Obviously, they are a bit deeper, and I presume that the ones in the Hasegawa kit can be made deeper by inserting a section and replacing the radiator matrices - or can the Academy housings be used with few modifications?

Hi, Jens, I am new to the forum.
Spit XIV/XIX's radiators are bigger than IX's (and I suspect 22/24 are even bigger). They are actually deeper, but I should take a second look to see if they are wider. In the Academy's kit, they are too narrow in planview, which leads to a boxy shape. You can adapt the ones included in the Aeroclub conversion for the F.21 (their inclusion is what makes me think the ones in the 22/24 do not work) with some work.
Hope that helps,
Fernando
